Previously we talked about the Architect to the Stars, Mr. Paul Revere Williams, and recently I came across a photo of another Los Angeles landmark under construction: the Theme Building at LAX.  So, let’s start with a portrait of the architect, President of the Municipal Art Commission of Los Angeles with Anthony Quinn to refresh our memories. Between them is Vincent van Gogh’s painting, “L’Arlesienne” (Woman of Arles). The painting was part of the Van Gogh exhibit at the Municipal Art Gallery in Barnsdall Park (the Barnsdall House was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and deeded to the city by it’s owner. It is also known as the Hollyhock House because of the floral patterned bricks on the exterior).
