Lena Horne waits backstage at the Mayan Theater in downtown Los Angeles where Dorothy Dandridge appeared in the musical “Sweet n’ Hot” (1944)
I took my mother and Granny to see Lena at the Golden Gate theater back in the 1980′s. Lena came out in a floor length sable sang a song…then took it off and dropped it on the stage and kicked it aside. “It’s mine so I can do that…” she said. We loved the show.
