SAKS FIFTH AVENUE

Remember the architects (father and son) who designed Bullocks Wilshire, John and Donald Parkinson?… And, if you’ve been following my blog regularly you know how I feel about the Los Angeles based architect Paul R. Williams. ART DECO – BULLOCK’S WILSHIRE

Bullock’s Wilshire was the first department store designed to accommodate the car. Huge artfully dressed windows faced the street to attract traffic and the entrance was in the back under a porte-cochere where liveried attendants parked your Nash or Packard.
