One of the Los Angeles greats, and his residences are exquisite — I was fortunate to visit a house he designed in the 1920’s, in perfectly original condition, including the furniture and paintings he specified and the garden he landscaped with a Alhambra inspired fountain and whispering bench. It took my breath away.
Well I guess I should be ashamed of my self for not knowing who PRW was, especially considering I worked on the 2007 renovation of the Escada store in the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. I found myself routing around in a basement room full of old drawings. I am sure that some of them came from work by PRW. What an experience.

I think PRW did the conversion from apartment building to hotel in the 1940s.

Though they were in the midst of renovating for their centennial celebration, the history of this storied hotel and its gorgeous architecture is undeniable.
