When I was a little girl I got to go backstage and meet her once when she was performing in London and you are absolutely right — very charming!! I thought she was the nicest lady in the world.

You were very lucky. I am contended to see the lovely photos of her. Last week I watched a film named Autumn Sonata (1978), she performed a role as a mother, but she was still very charming.

I remember that movie — very powerful. About a concert pianist trying to establish contact with the daughters she’s neglected? One of those brooding Bergman films with beautiful images by Sven Nykvist. Sounds like perfect viewing for this time of year 😉
Ingrid Bergman is very charming!!

yes, beautiful film.
Notorious is Wonderful…..but I also love Cary and Ingrid in Stanley Donen’s “Indescreet” from the play, “Kind Sir”. I just watched it last Sunday!
I love that movie… Maybe because I can identify with middle-aged romance 😉
Oh I know…even when I was a kid I could identify with middle-aged romance.
How relaxed Hitchcock looks, as if he knew what he was doing.
Wasn’t he the one who said shooting was the easy part and that all the effort went into prep?
