I’ve mentioned my uncle the production designer… He had an incredible library – this is an image from the 1942 edition of “House & Garden’s Complete Guide to Interior Decoration”. I should have kept it in mind when I remodeled the kitchen. I think to compensate I got a fire engine red stand mixer – let the layer cakes commence!

It looks surprisingly current… but then you can’t see the range or Frigidaire. that would give it away.
I think the only thing I would change would be the light bulbs… maybe silk wrapped?
Silk wrapped and energy efficient…right?
LED and silk wrapped? Whoa, I didn’t know such a thing existed!
I don’t think they do exist. Science fiction idea at this point. LOL
Hard to believe this is a 1942 kitchen! What a great image!
I think I’ll post more from these old design books – I love them!
Please do I love them too!
Tomorrow I’ll do some scanning, I have stacks!
