Beloved the world over:
On May 26, 1947, the FBI issued a memo stating “With regard to the picture “It’s a Wonderful Life”, [redacted] stated in substance that the film represented rather obvious attempts to discredit bankers by casting Lionel Barrymore as a ‘scrooge-type’ so that he would be the most hated man in the picture. This, according to these sources, is a common trick used by Communists. [In] addition, [redacted] stated that, in his opinion, this picture deliberately maligned the upper class, attempting to show the people who had money were mean and despicable characters.”[46][47]

Well, call me “Red” (Mr. Hoover) and saddle up the reindeer – but this is what Christmas movies are all about…
Leave it to Hoover to miss the point of this splendid film. Thanks, Vickie.
I wonder if the FBI sits around assessing TV these days… Way too many channels.
Didn’t those people have enough to do?
Imagine what their mandate covers today!
Damn Pinkos! Think Pink for that certain quel que chose
“Red is dead, blue is through, green’s obscene, brown’s taboo. And there’s not the slightest excuse for plum or puce—or chartreuse. Think pink! Forget that Dior says black and rust. Think pink! Who cares if the New Look has no bust. Now, I wouldn’t presume to tell a woman what a woman oughta think, but tell her if she’s gotta think: think pink!“
Think pink on the long long road ahead….
Well, recent history suggests that Capra may have been right about bankers!
He certainly was 😉
