Now, *this* is a strange coincidence… The name “the Rose Parade” came into my head a few days ago all unbidden. I didn’t know what it was (well obviously it was a parade with “roses” but that was about the extent of it) though I must have read or heard the name years before. Finally I decided to look it up but on a whim – and for no reason other than it *felt* californian – I thought I’d search for it here. And lo and behold! It’s here, called the Tournament of Roses, and in Pasadena yet, which you posted about last week. What a coincidence! Delightful pix too. Beguiled by Beguiling Hollywood again 🙂

Whimsey and pageantry all rolled into one – when I found these pictures they made me so happy.

Me, too. “Whimsy and pageantry”, yes indeed. (I like the elephant float in the other post as well)
