I think one of those fellows might be a certain Haldeman, grandpa to a rather infamous character from the Nixon era… Other members included Spencer Tracy, Milton Berle, Darryl Zanuck, and more judges and lawyers than you can shake a stick at. It was a benevolent society but I think their initial aim in organizing was to skirt Prohibition.
Yes! They did like to dress up and sing and cavort! They even bought a club house/compound out near the beach where they could frolic like they were in summer camp. I think I have some pix of their costume events…
