Here’s the dealio – these Oscars are heavy. At first glance there’s no way she can be toting the statuette around with that delicate gloved grip of hers, especially with a cigarette between her fingers. Look closely:
That’s John Wayne, the presenter of the Oscar standing behind her, immediately after the win you’re escorted backstage with your presenter, for pictures and press… Anyway, somebody is supporting her elbow, and I think some of the weight is in the gentleman’s hand and the rest must be resting on her hip.
