That is a hoot! I wonder if Shirley Maclaine – the screen Doris – has children? And who are they reincarnations of? Kidding, I kinda like kooky Shirley at least on screen! (except when she’s a bit *much*. Heh)

As Gripping mentioned in a previous post, so often mental illness, like its physical cousin is an inter-generational affliction.
No where more so than in this family. Not of course that matters were assisted by outside interference (apologies in advance to Lanier for alluding to the Dame).
At least Carrie has managed to make some kind of peace wwith herself over the years, albeit one she fully admits is fragile.

Ha, that’s what I get for responding to comments backwards… Yes, an inter-generational affliction. Carrie is a wonder, and a comedic delight as well – and I’ve got nothing but respect for Miss Reynolds. I think the peace they have is hard won, even more so because their struggles took place under the proscenium arch of fame…
