Again, a fascinating expression on an interesting face. There’s something really compelling in Myrna looking out of the frame, and there’s an unreadability to her (she may have simply been pondering what to have for lunch, of course!) The clothing is a little…busy, but the hat suits her and her hair.

She always looks impish to me, even in “The Best Years of Our Lives”.

    *Impish*! Very apt word. 🙂

    Dearest V (and G)
    Extravagantly *Impish* I should say!

I don’t know why the word *impish* prompted me but I’m putting up pix of Zachary Scott and Cary Grant at home tomorrow…

I think this is my fave portrait shot of Ms Loy.

It is great, but what about those gloves?

I really should have visited you much sooner, I’ve missed all these photos, Vickie. Myrna Loy is one of my favorites. I get the feeling she would have been a lot of fun to have a drink with.

Can fashion be statuesque? The stole, the gloves, the hat! What a marvelous countryside!

You know, I was just talking to a student of the art, and in fact the process of couture or tailoring is very much like sculpting in fabric. You are spot on!
