Deep breaths and prepare for the next phase. In my case they wanted/tried to ‘rework’ EVERYTHING. Don’t take it personally. It’s part of the game. There are several different agendas at play. Be flexible, have a glass of wine or two, and keep in mind that after this first one is done, people have no choice but to listen to you more next time around.
I don’t make a thing of it, but I have a decade or so of experience in this field 😉
I’m with Pink, they’ll make you wonder what they saw in you in the first place with all the changes they’ll “suggest”. And oh my god, the second picture makes me want to run out and buy some cut flowers just to celebrate your celebration. So happy for you, V! 🙂
I’m enjoying the process and we’ll see where it leads… and besides, the flowers smell like perfume, go get some! xox, V

Dear Vickie,
*Deliriously Happy For You*!
Sending a multitude of virtual bouquets and and an infinity of web-kisses to you! Not forgetting opening the window and shouting an abandoned “HOORAH!” out to the open air. Well done Ms Author and, now, *onward*… 🙂
Wishing You a Wonderful Weekend and All Good Fortune For The Future,
George x
Those peonies are you-know-what-absolutely gorgeous. Otherwise why should you have them? Same with your manuscript, someone wants it Monday. OK so there might be some trimming here and there but you have put in all the hard work and graft to make it happen. Absolutely well done!
Ms. Patti! Peonies grow in NY and blossom in June… Ah, they’re sooo beautiful and I can’t grow them here. Thank you and a bouquet of hugs to my favorite photographer.
I’m so thrilled for you, Vickie!! I’m sorry I’m getting to this late- my house went on the market today.
I happen to KNOW that your manuscript will not only be well received, it will be a mad success 🙂
It’s your time to shine and you are so ready. So very ready. Enjoy each glorious day.
Sending you a divine bouquet of Roses, Peonies and Lilies.
I’m looking forward to the launch party!! I’ll be there, you can bet on it.
Hugs and kisses for the beautiful author!!!
Lots of Love!!

Divine bouquet received. Beautiful! Even more so because your house went on the market today. I hope that is a mad success. I will send you a proper email after Monday. Infinity kisses!!! V
While new to this wonderful place, I can only imagine how far you have come to get to this point. So I will only second Mr. Kaplan’s “HOORAH!” and say please keep going, you are almost there…smell those divine pivoines (I have been photographing my bouquet chez moi)…and remember that there are so many people that believe in you…these comments are the proof, if any is needed. 🙂
Bisous et Bon Couragae!

Pivoines! They do smell heavenly and I do believe they are nodding toward Arles… Merci beaucoup!
The flowers are lovely. Best of luck! Fingers crossed, although you won’t need it. 🙂
Thank you! Fingers and toes on my end… 🙂
