He is some character, indeed – and a respected elder of the community 🙂

Smoulder, Kirk baby, smoulder…
I really admire him for how he came back after his stroke. It took great strength and character. He’s been in more than a few good-to-great movies, too. It must have been hard for Michael (another man who revealed great reserves of strength under straitened circumstances) growing up, as Mr Douglas, sr is such a *big* character…but he didn’t do too badly 😉 Actor, star, producer, etcetera.
So much character, tenacity and intelligence in his expression…

Why am I getting a tinge of Liberace from this photo???
Because he’s “Liberace’s” daddy 😉
LOL!!!
I can’t think of one Kirk Douglas movie that I dislike. I watched him the other week in “Ace in the Hole” and he was perfect.
He’s such a charismatic figure on screen – even when he plays a despicable character, you can’t help but root for him!
“Ace in the Hole” – a great Billy WIlder movie! I’m going to watch it again 🙂
