My childhood, Halloween, and The Beatles

The fab four in costume:

I’m the youngest of four. One of the earliest memories I have is of my oldest brother’s birthday, following my mother around as she decorated the dining room for his party. The centerpieces were Beatles singles stacked in “house of card” towers, the table cloth was strewn with guitar picks and sheet music—the cake was secondary, but she had piped notes across its three tiered glory.

I learned to play the stereo and the first LP, of course, was The Beatles. If you listen to my voice now when I belt it out (which I don’t recommend) you’ll notice it’s pitched a little low for such a petite personage, because I learned how to sing listening to The Beatles. The song catalog? Etched in my mind forever.
