    A great orator and fine war leader (the second time around). A rather fine writer too.
    But a man of many parts, a good number of the bad ones history has chosen to ignore.

        I haven’t read his autobiography, and I’m sure it’s no doubt self-serving, but I’d imagine it’s also full of witty remarks and insights, as well.

    I’ve never seen this photo before. The scope of damage is staggering. But, isn’t it always in war?

      I just found out from my sister that before my dad wrote code he was photographer for the army stationed in London, I still have some photos of decimated European cities. It’s chilling to look at them.

    An interesting photograph for many reasons.It depicts The Establishment doing a walkabout.Yes the damage is staggering,so was Dresden’s.
