Have you read the book she and her sister wrote, a really funny account of a trip to Europe in the early 1950s?

Indeed I have not. Must look out for this.

Oh good! I just quoted it in response to E.B. I think you’ll like it!

Just looking at it on the internet; looks absolutely beautiful and fun.

Her eyes look like they’re trying to run away from each other 😀

Okay, you MUST read “One Special Summer” by Jacqueline and Lee Bouvier – because it is fun and witty, and illustrated by the gals… And, here’s the thing I noticed when you made that comment, her face is very reminiscent of what a child draws in portrait, big wide-spaced eyes! 😉

Will get it asap. My front door neighbour is a de Broglie, Lee’s husband’s first cousin 😀
But c’mon, those eyes are too far apart. It’s borderline a chromosome issue…

Oh! Laughing still! You just made my day!
Here’s a quote from the slim, but CHARMING, book:
“Gee — Do you realize you’re in Pamplona!” bellowed Ace Williams, banging the table with his fist so that the glasses jumped, and squirting a bota of red wine into his mouth and down his shirt front. I certainly did realize it. For three mornings now he had woken us up at 5:30 to run before the bulls — Lee and I staggering blindly — hoping only to be gored and put out of our misery, while he thundered along behind quoting “Death in the Afternoon”. You couldn’t even blow your nose without being told how Brett had blown hers on p. 64 of “The Sun Also Rises”…

Oh my, this looks like I’m in the same room with them. Heartbreaking.
