I think I will have the $2.00 a plate …where the mountains meet the ocean.

Wow – you can’t even buy a Twinkie for $2 now!

      • November 18, 2012

Heck you can’t even buy a Twinkie period!

Not that I would ever want one again, but the thought of not being able to buy one makes me a bit sad!

It is the Hostess cupcakes that I will miss!

Me too. When I grew up in Minneapolis, there was an old Hostess Factory that was near my church downtown. I remember going to confirmation classes on Wednesday nights and there was a Hostess outlet attached to the factory. There they would sell just made items that may be slightly overun or defective. You could go in and get warm cupcakes, Snowballs and Apple Pies for 3 for 25 cents. It was wonderful. I can still smell the factory 🙂

Also intriguing – chestnut dressing. I’ve never had it. Peace reigns in my kitchen. The turkey is rubbed with salt and sitting in the refrigerator and the cranberry sauce is simmering. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, Lynn!

Holy canoli! Lamb à l’Arlesienne!!! My eyes nearly popped out of me head! And we didn’t even know each other then. That was BBH for me. I am trying to think what lamb from Arles would be. We do have excellent lamb here it is true but I wonder what the actual preparation consisted of???

I just went to go look in the Larousse Gastronomique — but even on a stepladder I couldn’t reach! I’m guessing roasted leg o’ lamb with rosemary, tomatoes, garlic?

Will we see the menu from the restaurant of choice for this Thanksgiving? Would be interesting to compare then and now.
