  1. Heather in Arles

I love Steichen’s portraits as the personage featured is stripped down to their essence without any artifice at all. Not even an overly white backdrop or stark lighting.

Eeeeexaaaactly. There is only so much precision that the eye can handle, apparently. A little of what we now call blur actually helps us see “more clearly.” Plus, a tiny bit of mystery never hurt either now did it?

      • I remember the first movie I saw in HD, it made me a little queasy and I had to step outside for some fresh air… AND, those CRAZY lights they use in fashion shoots with their strobe and laser brilliance actually feel like they’re hitting, bashing, against my skeleton when they flash. Can’t stand them.
A little blur is VERY good. As for mystery, yes please!
