    Thank you so much.I have never ever seen any of those pictures.Rathbone for me was the very image of Sherlock Holmes depicted in the stories newspaper incarnation.

      Apparently he was know for throwing parties and dinners, as (I’m finding out) was Dirk Bogarde. And, I’m sure they did it with staff – something that none of us is familiar with – another era.

    Fabulous home. Oh, don’t mention Cumberbatch in the same breath as Basil! The notion of people calling Holmes Sherlock and him not eviscerating them with words brings me out in hives. *winks*

      A friend of mine was a student in a High School where his daughter taught, loved her, but told me she unfortunately bore a strong resemblance to her father.
