How am I? Inquire at your peril.

the-grandmaster-1Now listen, I don’t know if it’s hormones, or the bulletin board covered with post-its I just constructed this weekend charting out my time between now and the release date of the book, June 1st, but DAMN poppets! There’s a lot to be done.

I’m beginning to see why some directors can be just a wee bit edgy, it comes with trying to keep track of more things than the human brain was designed for. That’s my serene view of the moment, the truth might be that the movie profession attracts a certain kind of cranky adrenaline freak, but we’ll delve into that another day.

How are you? What was your favorite movie this year? Did you see “Her”? How about “The Grandmaster”? Care to discuss?

I enjoyed the film. Then again I screened the Hong Kong theatrical cut instead of the newly edited US version.

I loved it! The visuals, the choreography, okay it was kinda a Chinese Opera story, but I got swept up completely. Did the Hong Kong cut have a less muddled narrative? Or were there more action sequences?

Yes, a better narrative, and one that didn’t minimize Zhang Ziyi as Gong Er. She’s great in this.

Ah, Yee Olde France is a little behind in video distribution but I was able to see “Dallas Buyers Club” and “August: Osage County” as of late. Some mighty phenomenal acting in both.
    Sending a bouquet of bisous…

I know this is naughty, but my favorite review of August: Osage was very brief, “Meryl Streep just never stops yelling.” 😉
