MURDER MOST FRAGRANT! ~ Guest Review of L’Aimant by Coty by The Perfumed Dandy. | SCENTS MEMORY

THE SCENE

I bid you welcome to the most unsettling afternoon tea party in an English rose garden of which, I hazard, you will ever partake.

An afternoon tea, in an English rose garden, unsettling? Why in the name of heaven how?

Why? Well there’s a killer at the table of course. Helping themselves to custard creams and sweet Ceylon no doubt.

You see ever since Great Aunt Agatha fell off the end of the twig as it were and of decidedly unnatural causes – unless you regard strychnine as a ‘natural tonic’ that is – suspicion has simply swirled around the village.

This is precisely why I’ll never go back to England. Or drink English Breakfast tea. There is something in it, apparently that inspires murder! The TV is full of it!

      Dearest Elyse
You’re quite right, murder of the fictional sort is a national obsession… though in this case it should be noted it was an American scent with a French name that was to blame!

I just made, well, if I were being truthful I minimally charred a pumpkin bread that would be great with tea. Minus the strychnine.
I love British mysteries, thank you and I’ll check it out!

Ah yes tea and murder are such perfect companions That I wrote a story about them. The tinkle of corpses falling onto fine bone china is quite irresistible I always think. Will you have another scone Vicar?Oh please do.

If the TV were to be believed then a certain village must be the murder capital of Europe per head of{dwindling population}I for one would not so much step out of my armored car should I ever be within ten miles of it.

What village is that? Don’t make me tune in to the BBC!

Fabulous! The writing is so fun but I LOVE LOVE Margaret Rutherford being cast as Madame Coty. Perfect.
