THE 26th ACADEMY AWARDS – AUDREY WINS BEST ACTRESS – 1954 | BEGUILING HOLLYWOOD.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that in this photo, where Miss Hepburn is beaming over her congratulatory telegrams, she is in wardrobe for Sabrina, which was shooting on Long Island at the time she received her Oscar.
Still my all-time favorite Hepburn.
Mine too! Must be where I developed my taste for gelato 😉 .
I loved the film Roman Holiday. Never have I felt more at the single word, ‘Rome,’ as I did when it came from her lips in the final scene. And I like that you’ve mentioned that she is in wardrobe for Sabrina. Never one to rest on her laurels.
Suze is here! Oh, that makes me “truly, truly happy” too. 🙂
Ms. Heather, hostess with the most-ess. We met in Arles 😉 .
An ingenue who worked, and worked and worked. I think one of the reasons she’s so beloved, still, is her grace, dedication to her craft, and loving outlook. It just shone through everything she did.
Most beautiful Oscar-winner ever. Period.

One of the most beautiful people, ever! Yes?
Goodness. Gracious. Vickie, I’ve watched it about ten times. I’m weeping. Weeping. I also love the “nail biting” top shot. By the way, thanks to your Audrey Hepburn nods, I’ve been listening to the “Breakfast at Tiffany’s soundtrack non-stop! Theadora
Great soundtrack! Isn’t she touching? I don’t know that she ever transformed for the camera, but what she did was illuminate each role. Just amazing. I better head over to your site now and see what’s going on and gorgeous!
Awww…the sweetest…the dress….her speech…..sublime.
I know! Just transcendent…
So sweet and genuine.
It is impossible not to love Ms Hepburn, she was so fragile yet strong, warm, and entirely luminous. Oh, and Roman Holiday is so romantic, funny, and touching. They surely *don’t* make them like THAT anymore.
Ah, one more thing, Audrey singing Moon River always makes me want to cry. Bella!
