Ooh la la, I am blushing Ms. V! But anyone who shows up at my doorstep with “It’s in His Kiss” in hand will most certainly be welcomed with not one, not two but three bisous, that I can promise you…

Romance and a soupcon of mystery are a big part of la vie francaise and a bigger part of your “roman merveilleux”!

Ah-ha!…maybe the sequel will have to take place in Provence, non? πŸ˜‰

Hm, at a beautiful old country house falling into ruin, restored by an intrepid American and her beloved consort…
I was just thinking this morning about the mystery in everyone’s life, and how we deal with it at different ages.
      Gros Bisous!

Where are you in Arles? One of my favorite places. I’m in Milan right now. Too far away to meet up for lunch, eh?

      May 21, 2014

Just a tad too far John! But how I do appreciate the thought…Milano…*sigh* And I am right next to the Place du Forum.

      • May 21, 2014

Wait, I’m confused, I thought VICKIE was in Arles…

      • May 22, 2014

Baby, if you’re in Milan it’s morning, but back home, here in California it’s past midnight! Send up a flare when you get back and are over jet-lag. I am heading up to see family and friends around the bay area, or are you farther North still? Let me know. πŸ™‚ Vickie
Sorry for the confusion, Lost in Arles is Heather’s website!

      • May 23, 2014

After Milan it’s Innsbrook, Bolzano, Vienna, Salzburg, Berlin, Paris, and then home. If you’re still in Nor Cal in seven weeks let me know!!!! We’ll meet in my favorite coffee shop in the Bay Area, where I wrote about a third of my novel while attracting strange stares from people who thus ended up as characters in it. (I even have a shirt that says CAREFUL OR YOU’LL END UP IN MY NOVEL.)

      • May 24, 2014

I’ll be around in seven weeks, and I want one of those T-shirts πŸ˜‰ .

*grabs copy of It’s In His Kiss, prepares box of disguises and fake I.D.’s heads to Arles to turn up at Lady Heather’s doorstep repeatedly* BWAHAHAHAHA!
The pose in the photograph reminds me of something: a painting? An album cover? A famous movie star photo portrait? I’m wracking my “brain” but I’m sure I’ve seen something like it somewhere before! Ah, Lady Heather, no one could tell you are an actress… πŸ˜‰

Oh my, that made me laugh SO hard with delight that it brought out the cackles. Here is a story for you, a true one. I did really live “la vie Boheme” in Manhattan for a time, especially when I was living in a loft that was a former sewing factory. I did not pay much in rent, this despite it being in such a great location as it had no heat. So yes, Cosette style, I would pile up all of my clothes on the bed at night in winter. I still got major bronchitis/quasi pneumonia one winter and as I could not afford a doctor (I think about this now as in France it would have cost 20 Euros), I had to just “wait it out” – which I did but my lungs are still scarred from it hence the cackles! Not pretty but there it is!
And as for the pose…who knows? I was just being silly. Anything for Ms V!
      Bisous to you both,
      H

      • May 21, 2014

The pose is inspired! And you did live “la vie Boheme!”

    • May 21, 2014

I think it looks like a portrait by François Boucher!

        May 22, 2014

well, technically all authors could scribble on the device but I doubt I want it! πŸ˜€

      • May 22, 2014

I think it should be a feature of a premium copy, or a prize… πŸ™‚

      • BEAUTYCALYPSE
        May 22, 2014

or authors could brand a series of kindle as their book hits the shelves! oh the possibilities…
