Really, a girl only needs her pearls. 🙂

Lordy my! That’s the nicest photo I’ve ever seen of Jean Acker. Thanks for sharing!

I reposted this on my FB page and Bizarre Los Angeles said that it’s actually a photograph of Jean Ackerman who was a Ziegfeld girl. The photo was taken around 1929 by Alfred Cheney Johnston.

I wonder if this slightly risque portrait was part of the “private” collection Johnston gave to the Library of Congress? And what became of Jean Ackerman? Do you know? I’d change the photo…but I love the pearls…thank you, Martin!

I did a bit of reading about who Jean Ackerman was. She was fairly busy during the silent years and made her last movie in 1927 just as the talkies came in. The consensus seems to be that she “saw the writing on the wall when talkies came in.” … which I take to mean “she had a horrible voice or accent which didn’t record well.”

      Damn, she was beautiful, though…

Right! Whether it’s Acker or Ackerman, the point is, she knows what to do with her pearls!
