    There is a photo of her in her later years, like 80’s. And she is wrinkled and old but it’s beautiful. The photo made no apologies for aging. It is awesome.

      The Kid asked me the other day why young performers can’t hold a candle to Bacall at 20 in The Big Sleep, and then I explained the studio system to him and the work of Howard Hawks. And I thought I never got long-winded 😉 …
