Ms. Hepburn died at 96, and I suspect may have lived by the following credo…

I was reading about extreme aging the other day, the study of those who live past the age of 100, and I was particularly struck by this statement:

“These people did not inwardize stress,” said Steven Clarke, a UCLA professor of chemistry and biochemistry who studies the physiology of aging. “They gave stress to others.”

That explains it! And it also explains why, as of September 1st, 2014, there are only 74 women and 2 men on the planet who are still kicking at 110, or over. Mister Lester makes the following observation, “That figures, women are much better at giving stress.”

Don’t internalize stress, give stress to others. Hm. Not exactly Christmas tidings, but I’ll definitely be rethinking my New Year’s resolutions…
