As head of the Civic Repertory Theatre, she is known to have rejected the admission of Bette Davis, whose attitude she described as “insincere” and “frivolous”.
Peter Pan with élan – now, that’s the one performance here I would like to time travel back to and see.

Oho, *Eva*! Poor “frivolous” Bette 😉 (who I watched in All About Eve last night! Things to notice : *That* dialogue; imperious Ms Davis; Addison De Witt; Celeste; viperous Eve herself; early Marilyn – whose mannerisms such as that thing she does with her mouth – should be irritating yet have the opposite effect, etc. Oops. Off on a tangent. Mea culpa) Fabulous tidbit. Thank you, darling Vickie.
What a cute picture. It would be remiss of me not to mention Eve’s hilarious hat and uh splendid gams.

Hint, hint… Hm. Have I been commenting too much? I love you and Beguiling Hollywood. It’s so eh beguiling, sublime. But perhaps I’ve been too garrulous , enthusiastic, and babblingly demonstrative/boring? If so, I’m sorry. Trepidatious R xox
I forgot how sensitive men are — no, you do not comment to much. That is my unsubtle answer. Every time a comment rings out into the universe more people come to see what the hubbub is about. Keep ’em coming. V

Well, I wouldn’t want to let the universe down, now, would I?! Plenty of men ain’t that sensitive, I’m one on my own, unfortunately! Heh. Sorry for touchy worrywartness, am not on top of my game today, I don’t feel so hot, or up on myself. “Unsubtlety” therefore appreciated from this big moany dummy.

Pouf honey! At least you’re not writing when I know you should be asleep. Lots of hugs from here, now burrow in somewhere warm… like bed… and read until you drift off. Lullabies, V

Well, that makes me feel all warm and glowy (I know how “manly” of me!). Will take your good advice…very many more appreciative hugs returned, Sleepy R
A charming and very period picture.

And, she too have a series of lady companions – among them Tallulah Bankhead.
It’s becoming a theme! Eva Le G – a great lady.
Quite magical 😉
Ah, you got rid of my futzed post. So now I don’t look such a chumpus! A grateful peck to you, R 🙂

A very gamine Ms Le Galliene.
Now this is the kind of Pan The Dandy delights in.
Such a beautiful gaze.
Yours ever
The Perfumed Dandy
I’ve heard of her but never really knew what she was about, now that I’m intrigued I’ll have to do more research!
