He also wrote a book in the late 1920s, “Practically True.” I’ve read excerpts and it’s witty, delicious, and rather camp. Searching for a copy as I type.

I was enchanted when I started hearing his back-story, and then I found out a friend of mine has a site devoted to Ernest Thesiger and his works, am working on post to highlight it now.

I am searching for his autobiography, “Practically True.” I have a feeling when I find it I am in for a treat!

I do hope you find it. My grandfather didn’t do anything as beautiful, but I suspect his interest in craft work arose out of WW1 rehab as well. I expect the same could be said for his brother who was skilled at macrame, amongst other things.
