I see you have provided a picture of Howard Hughes during a more normal period of his life. I have read two books about him, as well as watched a number of documentaries that dealt with his life and idiosyncrasies. In addition, I also watched the excellent television movie in which Tommy Lee Jones portrayed Hughes.
Well spotted! Before he had a some pretty catastrophic accidents. I think the one he had during filming was severe, but not as bad as the ones he had in the 1940s.
