    Dearest V
Of all the many splendid homes you have brought to our attention, The Dandy feels this is the one that most exactly matches my idea of my idea of the ideal.
A house at one with nature.
Though I am under no illusions as to the likely scarcity of protection from the elements that this structure might afford… it is too beautiful to resist.
    Yours ever

I agree with the Dandy, a stunning house entwined with its natural surrounds. And the Verdugo Woodlands is such an evocative name. “…Living the California Dream”, indeed! 😉

It’s a wonderful house, in a quiet area, with huge oaks surrounding — you do look out over someone’s driveway from one of the windows — and I watched it go for a reasonable price in the area, to more than double. The new owner must think of it as a work of art, and probably rightly so.

“In Every Dream Home A Heartache…”?! Seriously, yes, they probably *are* right to see it as as a work of art. A dream home, indeed.

A piece of art that needs constant maintenance – argh!

Ha! Welcome home, Vickie 😉 So, that “dream home” *is* a heartache!

Nice old oaks (and they’re protected here) have HUGE root systems – got a minute to talk about the drains? 😉

    ah. yes.

no wonder Tom Ford was inspired.

the sort of house to sip tea by candlelight and listen to Nina Simone…..

    oh. wait.

that’s what we’re doing over here.

Even though this wouldn’t typically be ‘my style’ I do love it. I appreciate the fact that it blends so seamlessly with it’s surroundings. It does have a masculine feel to it, some might disagree. I always think the same of Frank Lloyd Wright homes, something about the lines or maybe the time period? I did quite enjoy this film, how could I not, it was starring my love, Colin Firth. 😉

I love the house nestled under the trees it’s very indoor/outdoor, as to Mr. Firth… Now, I do remember him stepping out to get a diary for someone to share their gripping life. Interesting, indeed!

Oh, a Gripping Life, I’m sure Colin Firth will one day be yours! He just doesn’t know it yet. 😉

This would be a perfect writing retreat. Its sparse set-up would allow you to breathe and think. However, it would be hard to get any writing done if it was always as sunny as it is in these photos…

It is always sunny! But you’d find a way to endure 😉

It looks better than my home, that’s for sure!

Trying very hard not to be consumed by jealousy… Failing…
