“I believe that faith is a precursor of all our ideas. Without faith, there never could have evolved hypothesis, theory, science or mathematics. I believe that faith is an extension of the mind. It is the key that negates the impossible.” Charlie Chaplin
I am going to go ahead and be selfish and pretend that this quote was just for me. Merci!
It’s from his autobiography, published in 1964, very catchy title, “My Autobiography.” 😉
Or is it the key that ignites the possible?
I wonder what sense of the use he was using. Trust, or belief based on spiritual understanding? At any rate, I like your “ignites” better.
I am always surprised at how handsome he was when he wasn’t goofing around.
Negating the impossible is an amazing thing. One of the big themes in my writing.
