It’s high society fashion for a film released in 1939, based on a play written by Claire Boothe Luce, with an all female cast, directed by George Cukor, called “The Women” — you MUST see it!

Thanks Vickie,I thought I would be wrong as other details did not look right, even by men in tights standards for historical dramas. However a similiar form of head gear was worn by woman during parts of the Middle Ages.

Heh! The Women! Yep, my first reaction to that particular image was similar to Edward’s: “WHAT is she WEARING?!” The thing is it’s kind of Fabulous! 🙂

The costumes were designed by the fabulous Adrian, if you haven’t seen the movie — it is a treat, on so many levels — even the wardrobe is witty.

It is a tank! Two questions: how do keep it sparkly clean, and where the hell does that phone plug in??? I’ve never seen the play, but I’d love to.
