A lovely young friend recently gave me a hot new piece of science fiction to read (and you know, my darlings, I’m all for whatever floats your literary boat). However, I’m afraid I had the same reaction to the book as I do to Game of Thrones…I can’t get past the ridiculous names. Why can’t fantasy/sci-fi characters be named Laura and Steve?
