some dogs look so deliciously Slumped with their chubby cheeks.

strange that one would notice dogs when Bacall is in the room.

but he’s looking straight at the camera (like a good Hollywood-trained dog)

“Our house is a very, very, very, very, very fine house… With two cats in the yard. Life used to be so *ha-ard*, now everything is easy ’cause of you”! These picures remind me of that (sentimental) lyric; particularly the second which is so warm. Great find, Ms Vickie… (yep, as usual :))

I noticed the dogs too and maybe that is strange noticing but did you also notice Bacall is top dog because she is the only one not on the floor.

      Bacall as Alpha… I like it 😉

Make me the third to notice the dogs. Not only because I love them but they seem to be the only relaxed elements in an otherwise rather staged photo…Madame Bacall looks quite bored by the proceedings…?

I think sometimes there’s a look mother’s get that’s both tired and relaxed… or I may be projecting!

To be fair, it’s Madame Bacall…she often looks bored! 😉
As for the dogs… What dogs?! Bwahahaha!

Actually, you are right Mr. K (not about the dogs, sigh), it is true that bored/detached look is what brought her stardom…should have thought twice before commenting…

Mr. Kaplan, I started my professional life as a theatre actress in NYC…I don’t offend easily. 😉

That’s great! The only other couple I know that had three dogs (for a time) was us, although the difference is, theirs look well behaved.

    Dearest V
You know, that really does look like a home… as opposed to a “show home”.
    How lovely.

That’s exactly what I thought. Just so comfortable. I should have posted Cher’s Gothic pastiche in Malibu as a nice contrast 😉

    did somebody say Cher?

    gosh.

    • May 20, 2013

I have a friend she used to babysit — when she was sixteen — and she was very nice and took him go-carting.

      • May 21, 2013

on a first day with someone they took a call from Cher.

        true story.

“welcome to Hollywood” we giggled to ourselves as we were driving.

Love this house! It looks quite modest from this angle.

Ha! In the 2nd photo, Bogie is wearing SUCH “dad” clothes, right down to the socks.
