“I was sorry to have my name mentioned as one of the great authors, because they have a sad habit of dying off. Chaucer is dead, Spencer is dead, so is Milton, so is Shakespeare, and I’m not feeling so well myself.” Mark Twain

Had the great fortune to tour Mark Twain’s house in Hartford yesterday and stood in his favorite room at the top of the house, light filled and airy, which contained a billiards table and a desk and a small table shoved into a corner where he composed; The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Prince and the Pauper, Life on the Mississippi, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court.
