“Learn your lines, find your mark, look ’em in the eye and tell ’em the truth.” James Cagney
Cagney played a supporting role to Edward G. Robinson’s lead – I’ve never seen it but there’s supposed to be some pre-code naughtiness – a Warner Bros. gangster film from 1931 – when they used real gunfire on set. I shudder to think.
Real gunfire!! Holy Moly! It looks to me like there is some hanky panky going on there…. are those girls….working?
William Wellman said in an interview they used live rounds in “Public Enemy” and when you see bullet holes in walls and gunfire taking off chunks of buildings it’s the real deal. Oh, the stories I could tell you of working girls – but I’ll have to save it for our walk.
I got some working girl stories too!
……and working boys too.
We’re gonna have to cover a lot of ground on these walks – I’m going to get myself a new pair of hiking boots 😉
I am going to get a golf cart
Oh my goodness, I just about fell over. I have to go visit your site now and see what you’ve been up to…
