“When we hear news, we should always wait for the sacrament of confirmation.” Voltaire

memoriam

In honor of Adel Tormas who saved hundreds in Beirut by throwing his body over the second suicide bomber.

In honor of the man in the red shirt who pulled wounded Gauthier and several others to safety at the Bataclan concert hall in Paris.

The sacrament of confirmation is hard to come by in a twitter-mad world. So while some use social media to air their prejudices, or advance their political agendas, others deserve our praise; those who sacrificed and saved, those who opened their doors and hearts to humanity.

It seems a bit unseemly to blog this week, so I’m not going to.

Over the weekend Beguiling will be back up with recipes for the holidays. Until then I wish you peace and loving kindness.
