    No way! It’s hard to imagine anyone but Audrey playing Holly Golightly, but I bet Marilyn would have been superb in the role.

      Her agent told her not to play a prostitute and she did “The Misfits” instead. It certainly would have had a different tone with Marilyn…

    Hard to imagine that one . That photo is classic. The way his hand is kind of clenching MM and her looking at someone else rather sexily. A 1000 words.

    I like Marilyn, but I like her best in still photos. Listening to her talk is sort of like choking to death on cotton candy. With the exception of the movie “Niagara” – I loved her in that!

    I actually think a more faithful to the novella remake of Breakfast at Tiffany’s could be a good idea. But I know that in the end, we’d still prefer Audrey and George.

      I read the Clare Boothe Luce play, “The Women” last week — so much more racy than the movie — but again, it’ll always be the Rosalind Russell, Joan Crawford version for me.
