That smiling young person is yours truly, on a rather dingy cold movie set right after The Mister and I decided to get married. We met two years earlier on a movie set in baking hot Palms Springs, and our wedding took place in our backyard in Hollywood right after Thanksgiving.
Today we will have been married 33 years, and if you were to see us today most likely we would appear like this—
Happy Anniversary, Mister!
And I’ll be back to podcasting in a little bit, episodes 23 and 24 are coming up.
Beautiful wedding photo. Major coincidence: I was married 33 years ago today. Have a happy anniversary. I’ve got to go deliver breakfast in bed.
It’s a good time of year to be married. Wishing you many more happy anniversaries!
Happy Anniversary to two brilliant, rare human beings, with love
Sending you love and hoping better times for all of us. I saw a picture of St. Christopher’s Place in London all dolled up for Christmas — and strangely empty. Los Angeles has entered into a more restrictive three weeks as well. So the company I keep (and have been keeping since March) is The Mister, and these days six books that are a portal to a different world…the Palliser novels. I feel very lucky. xox
GORGEOUS YOU TWO!!!
Palm Springs has happy memories for me too!I had an AUNT who had a house there…….
Met LIBERACE on an AIR CALIFORNIA flight headed that way….he drew me a picture with his autograph!A piano with a CANDELABRA!I must pull that OUT and FRAME it!I was all of TEN YEARS OLD!
WHAT will YOU DO TODAY to CELEBRATE………..?
HUGS to YOU and the MISTER.
BE WELL………WE GOT OUR WISH……..NOW WE WAIT FOR JANUARY!!!
XOXO
Why thank you! I love Palm Springs — in the winter. That’s the terrain I always associate with Christmas, but this year we are staying put. Today we are celebrating by making gingerbread and masking up for a nice walk under brilliant blue skies. Let’s talk on the phone this week, sending you love!
Congratulations and Happy Anniversary! As of Monday I will be officially retired and near the top of my list is to listen to your new book 😉
Congratulations to you! There will be 36 episodes (maybe 37 if I decide to write an epilogue to the epilogue 😉 ) and I will be curious to know what you think about the listening experience, especially if I should change the order (if I can manage the mechanics) on the podcast from latest episode first to oldest episode first. Hurray for Monday!
Happy Anniversary and congrats on 33 years!
Thank you! So wonderful to be standing side by side, especially in rough times like these. I feel so very lucky.
Happy Anniversary to you, Happy Anniversary to you, HAP-PYYYYY AAAANNI-VEEERSSS-AAAARY TO YOU TWOOO, Happ- Oops! Wrong song of celebration… Ha! I hope that you and ze Mister had a lovely day commemorating thirty-three glorious glittering years, a day for casting away shadows with happiness and healing light heading into a better future. Here’s to thirty-thirty three more years for gorgeous You and ol’ Hunky! 😉 (Love your hair in the wedding photo and your present day masked and behatted cuteness in the present. Lo! I see Mister C – not Tom Bosley – a-lurking in the background! As for the first photo: Adorable! Look at that mid-period Dynasty – or Annie Potts in early Designing Women – hairstyle of yours; hello, the Eighties!)
Thank you! You spotted it. Definitely 80s. And the wedding haircut was a remedy to some weird asymmetrical cut I got on location in Atlanta just months before the ceremony. The 80s were an era of strange hair and makeup. A friend wrote this about my wedding makeup, which included a pink band of eye shadow reminiscent of BLADE RUNNER:
“Proud to have been at your side as you wiped off the hideous hooker make-up provided by the “professional make-up artist”!
Everything was perfect (after the make-up was gone). 🙂 Happy Anniversary to you two lovely people! *Love* that you forgot that! The vivid pink, smeared across such a wide swath of your face is seared into my memory. It’s my favorite moment of your wedding prep. Actually, I was worried about the time & was chatting with you about whether you should just keep it and cherish the oddity of it when you grabbed a washcloth and soaped it right off! 😉 The bravado of the moment has always stayed with me as a revelation of your character! Plus, it makes me laugh.”
Stay well, and here’s to a better future!
I love that! Altho’ to be truthful I think the Pris from Blade Runner make-up sounds great! Maybe not so great for a wedding (unless the bride is a stripper!) to be sure. 😉 Love some Eighties fashion and make-up and hair (not so much mid- to late-Eighties tho’, even Magnum, P.I. had a perm. Yikes! O, the Humanity!)
“The bravado of the moment has always stayed with me as a revelation of your character”, what a great compliment!
Love and Good Fortune to you, Lady.
