There are stairs from street to street all over Beachwood Canyon. I had a friend who counted them – I think she said there were four hundred (stairs, not stairways) – she used them to get in shape for her wedding gown. (Lord, children, she was fit!) Here’s a picture of some Beachwood Canyon stairs from the 1920s.

When I hear Beachwood I always think of that old song …”Beachwood 45789 you can call me up any old time” and the street I once lived on in Riverside “Beachwood Place”.
