FDR – AND A LOCK OUT AT PARAMOUNT IN 1937

Kudos to John Stewart – I saw this on his broadcast a couple of weeks ago and it’s still resonating. Especially since the last debate in which Romney portrayed himself as Obama-lite. And, you can all heave a sigh of relief, this is my last political post – at least until the next election cycle.

Totally unrelated – but this is a strike in which the film workers were locked out of the lot in 1937. The NRA banner refers to Roosevelt’s National Recovery Administration – an offspring of the NIRA – which involved trade practices and labor regulations (hours, no children, etc.)

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – we’re changing things up at vickielester.com and it’s story time. Lots of words, one picture, and one post a day… A little adventure about a young lady from Boston who goes Hollywood. Let me know what you think. Cheers, dears! V
