RAMBLING AROUND THE MOVIE COLONY

So, I’m into architecture – and I’m not picky as to period, as long as it’s authentic to its time. Okay, I lied, I am picky – but these seem to sing Palm Springs – and it’s a nice tune…

Top Dog, aka, my Mister was very sweet and snapped these photos on our morning walk. He speaks perfect Vick-i-lese and he knows exactly what I mean when I wave my hands in the air making funny little piping noises. After our ramble we drove east to a great Mid-Century store called Hedge – insert shameless plug here: http://www.hedgepalmsprings.com/ – and bought two wonderful pieces of furniture from Thomas and Charles that we will integrate into our 1920’s Spanish. If all goes well I’ll post pix.

A friend of mine Monty Collins who is a designer had a wonderful mid century house in P.S.. A few years back I got to visit him and see it. I was AMAZED! I felt like I was in a Frank Sinatra movie circa 1959. All white and all glass walls facing the mountain and set on a emerald green velvety golf course. WOW…so honey I hear ya!

For some perverse reason I am trying to download an architectural tour app when all I have to do is close the front door and start walking… I think you can rent the Frank SInatra house – $2,600 – a night!!! Oh my stars and whiskers…
