DYNAMIC ELEGANCE – THE FASHION DESIGN OF DAI LE

DAI LE FASHION DESIGNTwo weeks ago, Saturday, the Kid assisted Dai Le at an event at Siren Studios in Hollywood. (Remember the picture of yours truly on a rooftop, and the post, of all things – grousing about my hair?) Since then this talented young man has been highlighted in Apparel News and Women’s Wear Daily. I am so proud I could pop – look at the line, the elegance, the flair – (in a moment, I snapped this inadequate image with my iPhone)… Here is a link to his site and professional images, Photos by: Qi Wong, Carlos Gomez:

Very impressive. I love everything about this.

Weren’t we just talking about flowing black dresses? Although, I know for a fact the nuns would not have approved of the bustiers 😉

Love those gorgeous, bold outfits on Dai Le’s site (also the shoes! Tho’ I presume those aren’t his). I like how on modelmayhem he refers to his “creations”, it must be great to be able to talk about your creations! (not in a Colin Clive “It’s alive! Now I know what it’s like to be God!” way tho’) I wish him well with his excellent work.
Many felicitations and much good fortune to the Kid, too. Well done. You’re so right to be prouder than punch but please Vickie don’t *pop*!

Most of the shoes were modified – covers were sewn – to compliment the outfits. I think it really pulled the look together. Felicitations most welcome and I will endeavor not to pop, even like a bubble in champagne.

I couldn’t have said it better myself. Thanks, love!

        April is getting closer!!

      • March 22, 2013

Walks and perfume and houses and dinner! Nothing better!

And I bet it seems as though the Kid was really a kid just moments ago. Amazing what they can get up to when we look away for just a moment. Great stuff 🙂

Thank you, and that’s a definite yes, about five minutes ago 🙂

    Dearest V
The word ‘statuesque’ seems to have been created for that gown.
    Truly, the line of beauty.
Proud as you may be, please don’t pop though…

    Yours ever

Very well, no popping. What a tidy up that would be!

      • March 22, 2013

I assume you are, from your appearance, much trop jeune, for Monty Python and his Flying Circus; however the awful image of Mr Creosote in my mind.
        Oh dear.
Better stick to the beautiful images supplied by yourself and The Kid instead.
        Yours ever

I didn’t see it when it first was broadcast, but I have caught up. Oh heavens, we’ll leave the buckets out of it, and “The Meaning of Life” — I prefer “The Life of Brian” 😉

Just thinking about it makes me laugh, especially the scene with the Latin declensions!!!

Hi, Vickie, How are you? Have you got contact with ” The kid”? Thank for a great article!

    • April 6, 2014

Dai! So good to hear from you! The Kid is in touch with his parents when he needs money…hm… He is doing very well in school and working on some fun designs, like a skirt for an entity with more than the usual number of appendages. I think the professors are trying to get the students to think WAY outside the box. The best way to catch him (I think) is on his 1959 email address or Skype if you’re up at odd hours. Hope you are doing well, xox, V
