In my haste yesterday I forgot to say what happened. Let me preface this tale by saying I am not very good at sitting still.
So, I decided I needed a doctor’s mandate to sit on my derriere all day and eat potato chips and swill ginger beer. And, to that end I careened into a large heavy piece of furniture and got a spiral fracture down the length of my little toe. I thought those suckers were vestigial – who knew? When it happened I thought, “that’s nothing”, so I ran some important errands – but as the pain didn’t abate but only intensified I was… urged to seek medical attention. Upshot, staying off my feet for three days, crutches and funny shoe for a couple of weeks. Bone will take 4-6 weeks to heal.
.
That is my silly story.
Yes, I am camped out here – and today and tomorrow will be re-posts. Today a few witty remarks by Noel Coward and Graham Greene. Tomorrow a little overview on the career of an extraordinary costume designer, Walter Plunkett.
It you don’t want to see old stuff, skedaddle until Friday when we look at star portraits with a burnished, velvety, luminously dark glow…
