Kelly made you gasp with awe, but Astaire made you want to dance like Astaire. My choice all the way.

But, there’s the rub — nobody dances like Astaire! 😉

Astaire made me want to dance like him AND be with a man who could dance like him. Kelly was energy and jazz, but I feel romance and sensuality oozes from astaire when he’s dancing 🙂

when I was a boy I wanted to look like Tyrone Power and dance like Fred Astaire and sing like Howard Keel. One out of three ain’t bad… I will leave it up to you to guess which one is one.

I’m putting on my top hat,
tying up my white tie, brushing off my tails.
I’m duding up my shirt front,
putting in shirt studs, polishing my nails.

And I’m stepping out, my dear,
To breathe an atmosphere that simply reeks with class,
And I trust that you’ll excuse my dust when I step on the gas,
For I’ll be there putting down my top hat,
Mussing up my white tie, dancing in my tails.
      ???

Concur that Astaire is a wonder–but oh, what I wouldn’t do to have legs like Cyd Charisse!!

Cyd Charisse… Holy Moly, those LEGS!
Oh, I’m sorry, did I say that out loud? 😉
The Band Wagon is a fine film. And the dancing is… Exquisite.
