That’s a line from the 1957 version when press agent Matt Libby (played by Jack Carson) realizes he’ll have to do something about Esther’s name… Now, I have a real name too, (not Esther) no press agent, and a pair of mighty agents who decreed the moniker for this site. But, I have a feeling when my book is published and my real name gets out it’ll be a little of a letdown. Whoa, long winded me, and what I really wanted to say was: THANK YOU for the fascinating and thought provoking piece you wrote – I couldn’t get it out of my mind – hence the re-post.
Great article!!! And the photo is so cool: titled “brothers.”
Thanks for the photo and the article. Very thoughtful.
thanks, it was kind of Esther Blodgett to re-post it
Matt Libby: [after being introduced to Esther] Esther Blodgett? Well, we’ll do something about that. Anyway, nice to have you with us.
😉
The character “Vickie Lester” in “A Star is Born” had a real name: Esther Blodgett.
