This is an exquisite photograph!
What was interesting to find, was that the glamour photographers did use gorgeous lighting techniques, but in a new book on George Hurrell, it also shows how he retouched photos as well — just fascinating!
George Hurrell’s Hollywood: Glamour Portraits 1925-1992 Hardcover
by Mark A. Vieira (Author) , Sharon Stone (Foreword)
I am such a fan of Hurrell’s work. This photograph is so powerful I can almost hear them breathing. And yes, the lighting and retouching techniques used here are gorgeous! A master!
They had faces then…and MYSTIQUE!
Big eyes and smooth skin and WONDERFUL lighting. I am reading Rosiland Russell’s autobiography: Life is a Banquet, she is a hoot! I think you would love it!
I have read it and I loved it! Hey…storytime over at my place… save it for bed time…it is a real bedtime story….you’ll see!
I’ll be there! With a cup of hot cocoa and striped pajamas! Love, V

Old Hollywood was something to behold…
And then along came Mr. Hurrell…a young upstart out of nowhere who got a little lucky but had a LOT of talent. And V, I have that book but it is not new…unless you have a new edition of it…?
Bisous! Hope that you are well lovely lady!
Must be an updated version? Published, November 12, 2013. I am in a happy state of anticipation, the Christmas tree should arrive any minute…
