When I was 25 and working as a waiter in the Financial District of San Francisco a woman called me over to her table and said. “You look just like William Powell.” …. I laughed and said… “You look like Lana Turner”. Turns out she was Lana Turner in town to visit her daughter Cheryl Crane who lived here with her “gal pal” in those days.

Lana Turner! Had she entered her leathery tanned phase? No disrespect, it’s hard not to living in L.A. that long… 😉 .
