I met Barbra Streisand in August of 1960 a few hours after I arrived in New York from Los Angeles. My first apartment was in Greenwich Village at 16 Gay Street next door to the basement apartment made famous by Ruth McKenney in her memoir, “My Sister Eileen” which was made into a movie and the musical, “Wonderful Town”.
